| Description |
Gangs: Theory, Practice, and Research guides readers through a course of study that involves the completion of 100 learning activities designed to make the reader think critically about the gang problems facing our society. It explores the gangs from the academic, theoretical, and pragmatic approaches used to address gang issues. Understanding the most common causation factors, common intervention and prevention strategies, and related gang theory are essential to fully understand the scope of the problem. It is even more important to understand what is being done and what more can be done with the gangs we have causing problems for our society today. The book treats the reader as if they are a police officer tasked with investigating gangs in their community. It is intended to help the reader address the gang problems facing our society in a very real and useful way from a primarily law enforcement perspective.
